01 / CONNECT YOUR DEVICES

Your Apple devices.
Ready to share.

iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Three pairings. One simple way to connect.

iOS ↔ Mac

Photos on your phone.
Work files on your Mac. Share either way.

iOS ↔ iOS

Two iPhones or iPads.
Send what you want to share directly.

Mac ↔ Mac

From one Mac to another.
Connect, drop in a file, and send.

App-to-app sharing requires NearDock open on both devices. iPhone and iPad are supported.

02 / THREE SIMPLE STEPS

Open the app.
Send the file.

Pick a device, confirm, and share.
No account or cloud upload needed.

  1. 01

    Open NearDock on both devices

Install and open the app on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Allow local network and Bluetooth access when prompted.

    Open the app
  2. 02

03 / ONE APP. MORE CONNECTIONS.

“What about Android or HarmonyOS?”

Open a browser.
Share both ways.

The other device doesn’t need NearDock.
One iPhone, iPad, or Mac with the app,
both devices on the same Wi-Fi, and you’re ready to share.

Devices must be able to reach each other on Wi-Fi. Guest networks or router isolation may block the connection.

One app is enough to send files both ways.

  1. 01

    Join the same Wi-Fi

Connect the device running NearDock and your Android, HarmonyOS, or other device to a network that lets them reach each other.

  2. 02

    Create a browser connection

Choose “Connect a browser” from NearDock’s chat list or settings. A link and QR code will appear.

  3. 03

    Scan or open the link

Scan the QR code with the other device, or open the full link in its browser to enter the chat.

  4. 04

    Send from either side

Choose a file in the browser to send to the app. Send a file from the app and choose “Accept and save” in the browser.

While transferring Keep NearDock running: leave the app in the foreground on iPhone or iPad, and keep your Mac awake.

When sharing a link Send it only to the intended device. Browser connections use unencrypted HTTP by default. For sensitive content, enable HTTPS in the app and check the certificate fingerprint.

A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS

Before you
start sharing.

From your first connection
to saving the file.

Does everyone need the app?

App-to-app transfers require NearDock on both devices. Browser sharing only needs the app on one iPhone, iPad, or Mac. The other device connects through a supported browser. Available features and saving options depend on the browser and device.

Can the browser send files, too?

Yes, files go both ways. Choose a file in the browser on your Android or HarmonyOS device to send it to NearDock. The device running NearDock can send files back. Choose “Accept and save” in the browser, then check its download list to confirm the file was saved.

Why won’t it connect on the same Wi-Fi?

Check that the network allows devices to reach each other. Guest Wi-Fi, AP isolation, or a firewall can block access. Keep NearDock running and use the full link currently shown in the app. On iPhone and iPad, moving the app to the background pauses browser access; use the updated link after returning to the app.

Do I need an internet connection?

Core transfers work without internet access or a relay through the developer’s cloud. Browser sharing needs a local network where both devices can reach each other; that Wi-Fi network does not need internet access. Photos or files still in iCloud must first be downloaded to your device through the system.

Where are received files saved?

NearDock keeps received attachments in the local chat. You can export them using Save or Share. Browser transfers usually use the browser’s download manager, so check its download list for the result. The browser and operating system determine the save location.
