Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the iOS app named NightSound in English and 呼噜呼噜 in Chinese, as well as this support website. The data controller is the individual developer qinghong meng (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

Please read this policy before use. The app requests one overall consent to this policy, including the Umeng+ usage analytics and stability-diagnostics processing described here.

Recordings

NightSound records surrounding sound only after you start a recording and allow microphone access. A recording may include your voice, ambient sound, and the voices of other people in the same space.

Records and results

To help you review a night, the app stores recording time and status, results, history, and any corrections or labels you choose to make.

Support communications

If you email us, we receive the email address, problem description, screenshots, and attachments you choose to send. Do not include private content that is unrelated to your request.

Usage and stability diagnostics

After you consent to this Privacy Policy, the app enables Umeng+ analytics and stability diagnostics and may process basic device and app information (which may include an identifier used to distinguish a device), launch and basic usage information, and crash, freeze, memory, or performance diagnostics. This information is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking and does not include recordings, recording results, audio names, or local paths.

Recording requires microphone access. You may decline it or turn it off at any time in iOS Settings. When it is off, you cannot start a new recording.

The current version does not request Contacts, Photos, Camera, or Location access for recording.

• To provide recording, review, playback, results, and history;
• To apply your deletion, permission, and privacy choices;
• To answer support and privacy requests;
• After you consent to this Privacy Policy, to understand basic usage and identify stability issues;
• To comply with applicable law and protect users, the developer, and the public.

Recordings and their related results are kept primarily on your device. The current version does not require an account or sign-in and does not offer cloud sync through a developer account.

Your recordings are not uploaded to the developer by default. Whether iOS device backup or migration includes app data depends on Apple services and your system settings.

Umeng+ usage analytics and stability diagnostics are included in your overall consent to this Privacy Policy. After you consent, limited information described above may be processed by Umeng+. See theUmeng+ Privacy Policy. You can continue using recording and other core features only after consenting to this policy and the Umeng+ processing it includes. If you do not consent, recording core functionality is unavailable.

Apple may independently process information related to app downloads, system diagnostics, device backup, or App Store services under its own terms and policies.

The current version does not integrate advertising services or engage in cross-app tracking.

We do not sell personal information or use recordings for advertising. Apart from the third-party service disclosed above, necessary information may be provided to another party only:

• At your request or with your additional consent;
• When reasonably necessary to protect people or services;
• When required by applicable law or a lawful authority.

Recordings and records on your device are generally retained until you delete them. You may delete an entire record or, when the app offers that choice, delete only its audio while keeping results and history. Deletion cannot be undone.

Deleting the app generally removes its local data from the device. Data already included in a system backup or device migration remains subject to Apple's rules and your settings.

Support email is retained only as long as reasonably needed to respond, troubleshoot, and meet legal obligations. Usage and stability-diagnostics information is retained according to applicable law, legitimate need, and the Umeng+ policy.

We use safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information, but no device or service can be guaranteed completely secure. Protect your device passcode and keep the operating system up to date.

NightSound is not directed specifically to children. Minors should use it with a parent or guardian. If a recording may capture a child or another person, obtain any authorization or consent required by local law before recording.

• View and delete your recordings and records in the app;
• Turn off microphone access in iOS Settings;
• Decide whether to give overall consent to this Privacy Policy, including Umeng+ usage analytics and stability diagnostics; if you do not consent, recording core functionality is unavailable;
• Ask about, correct, supplement, or request deletion of personal information we actually hold;
• Raise a concern or withdraw consent where applicable.

Because recordings and records are kept primarily on your device, we generally cannot read or restore them from a server. The current version has no in-app entry to separately disable Umeng+ analytics or withdraw overall privacy consent. If you want to withdraw consent or exercise rights over information already processed, stop using the app and contact us at the email listed in this policy. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out on the basis of consent before withdrawal.

We may update this policy when features, data practices, or legal requirements change. We will update the date and provide an appropriate notice for material changes, asking for new consent where required.
