1. Before recording
- Make sure the device has enough power or connect it to power;
- Allow microphone access when iOS asks;
- Check that the device has enough free storage;
- Place the device securely near the bed, away from bedding and frequent movement;
- Reduce continuous background sound such as a television, fan, or music where practical.
2. Recording will not start
- Open iOS Settings, find NightSound, and confirm microphone access is enabled.
- Close other apps that are using the microphone or playing audio, then try again.
- Check the device's available storage.
- Fully close and reopen NightSound. Restart the device if needed.
If it still will not start, note any error message, the time, app version, and iOS version before contacting us.
3. Recording stopped unexpectedly
Calls, other audio activity, power loss, insufficient storage, or a system-state change can interrupt a recording. Reopen the app and check History for any portion that was saved.
To reduce interruptions, keep enough power and storage available and avoid other apps that need the microphone or audio output during recording.
4. Results are incomplete or not yet shown
A long recording may take time before complete results appear. Keep the app open for a while, then return to History and check again.
If the record offers Retry or Analyze Again, try it when the device has enough power and storage. A record whose audio has been deleted cannot be completed or processed again.
5. Results do not match your experience
Ambient noise, another person in the room, device distance, placement, and recording interruption can affect results. Look at patterns over several nights together with your own experience rather than relying on a single result.
NightSound is not a medical device, and its results are not a diagnosis. Consult a qualified healthcare professional if you are concerned about sleep, breathing, or other health issues.
6. A recording will not play
- Check the device volume and the currently selected audio output.
- If the record keeps results but its audio was deleted, it cannot be played.
- An interrupted recording may contain only a playable portion.
- Deleted audio cannot be restored by the developer.
7. Deleting audio and records
Deleting an entire record removes its audio and related results. If Delete Audio Only is available, it can free storage while keeping results and history.
Both deletion choices are irreversible. Review the confirmation carefully, especially when a record does not yet show complete results.
8. Permission and privacy questions
- Recordings and related records are kept primarily on your device.
- The current version does not require an account or offer cloud sync through a developer account.
- Overall consent to the Privacy Policy includes Umeng+ usage analytics and stability diagnostics. Recording and other core features are available only after consent; if you do not consent, recording core functionality is unavailable.
- The current version has no in-app entry to separately disable Umeng+ analytics or withdraw overall privacy consent.
- You may turn off microphone access at any time in iOS Settings.
See thePrivacy Policy for details.
9. Contact support
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, emaila617257112@163.com.
Helpful details include:
- App version, iOS version, and device model;
- Approximate time of the issue and repeatable steps;
- The error message or a screenshot without private content;
- Whether you restarted the app, checked permission, or freed storage.
No recording is needed for your first message. Only consider sending the shortest relevant excerpt if it is truly necessary, you understand that it may contain private sound, and you freely choose to send it.
